    Good afternoon,

Brian from Rhode Island here. Does anyone have an opinion on pulling singles with a rest between each set just short enough to let your heart rate decrease noticeably? I find that when I do this I pull more efficiently. I am deadlifting on day 1 and 2, cleaning and chinning on day 3. 37 years old, 5’ 10, 204lbs, 4000 calories per day, week 14 of NLP; squat 280, Press 141, Bench 260, deadlift 370. I am going to eat more as well, I’ve gained 18 pounds since starting.

I neglected to mention that I have an inguinal hernia. It never causes pain and only bulges when deadlifting; hence I take the rest to push it back in. My physician's opinion is to leave it alone unless it enlarges or causes pain, of course I didn't expect to receive valuable information from them. Dr. Sullivan's article suggests mesh repair. Do I stop deadlifting until I undergo that procedure?

If you have it done next week, you'll be back to training sooner.
