Chinups are an assistance exercise. That means that you do them, but you don't worry about them, since they are not the focus of your training.
Hi, I am 26 years old, 5"10, 200 Pounds.
My current numbers are :
Squat 375 x 3
Deadlift 430 x 3
Bench 237.5 x 3
Press 169 x 1
I am running the Texas Method for a long time and making some good progress on my lifts so far.
Example of how my last week looks like :
Volume Day :
Squat 5x5 @ 318.5
Bench Press 5x5 @ 202
Deadlift 3x5 @ 345
Recovery Day :
Squat 2x5 @ 255
Press 5x5 @ 145 (85%)
Chin-ups 3x5-4-4 @ 50
Back Extension 3x15-15-15 @ Bodyweight
Intensity Day :
Squat 2x3 @ 375
Bench Press 2x3 @ 237.5
Press 7×1 @ 169
Deadlift 1x3@ 430
Back Off Deadlift 1×3 @ 387
I have failed the chin ups, I searched around the forum to see some advices and found Andy baker advice to add another chin up day.
1)3xMAX @ Body Weight
2)10x1 @ Weighted
my question is if it possible to add it to the Texas Method? would it be smart idea ?
my intensity day takes me about 3 hours to finish without any chin ups...
would you recommend do that in separates day or different day ? how would you plug it in and where ? maybe another advice to go out from that stall, it's the second time it happend to me, I am resting about 8-10 Min between sets.

Thank you coach, I understand, but progress still needs to be made, would you recommend do this 50 pounds weighted chin-up over and over again until I can get it for 5 ? it feels very taxing on my body to fail the chin ups.
can I add another chin ups day in the Texas Method?
As your bodyweight goes up and your chin numbers stay the same, you are making progress.
For me anyway, chins don't respond well to this method of progression. Actually, for me, nothing responds well to this method of progression but at any rate...
You might try more reps with less weight or more sets of less reps and slowly increasing reps over time although since you're already at a very low rep count for chins (less than five), I'd opt for more reps, less weight. Who wants to do sets of two in the chin up?
Just some thoughts.
