Hello
I am starting a weight loss program from Ultimate Diet 2 by Lyle Mcdonald
And the workout program only has low reps 5-1 once a week, after the high carbohydrates day.
And its full body workout with compound lifts
What kind of progression should I do?
I am supposed to try to lift more every week

I found a low volume/frequency high intensity approach worked for trying to maintain strength while cutting weight in a hard deficit, but there was still some loss off the weights I could do as time progressed. Definitely wasn't potential for growing strength on that program.
I followed Garage Gym Warrior while cutting from 20 to 15% bodyfat
And it worked I didn't lose any strength
Now I need a harder diet and Ultimate Diet 2 has 1 high carb day 1000 grams+ of carbs in 24 hours
The next day your supposed to train full body with low reps and longer rest period between sets
I just need a good progression that I can follow for once a week
You are correct that Mark and Andy have a lot of experience with strength programs that work. And those tend to be "low volume/high intensity." You could modify the program by foregoing Lyle's diet and exercise advice and trying this instead. Amazon.com You didn't mention your current height/weight and whether or not you are doing weight loss as a medical emergency. If you are not morbidly obese, try the program in SS:BBT. Otherwise, this may hellp. Training the Emergency Weight Loss Trainee | Andy Baker
