    Default Power Clean

As I continue to add weight to the Power Clean, naturally it is getting heavier and heavier. I've noticed recently that in order to catch it in the rack, I have to drop just a little bit lower to make the catch. At some point soon, I'm going to have to either stop adding weight, or drop below the 1/4 squat position to catch it closer to parallel, which I realize at some point becomes a more traditional Clean (AKA Squat Clean) which is not in "the program".

I am trying to follow the program as written, and consequently have not even practiced a squat clean (or even front squats for that matter).

Should I stay the course with the power clean, and just not allow myself to drop below the traditional 1/4 squat position even if it means failed racks, that I probably could have caught had I dropped just a bit lower?

On the back cover of the blue book, you write "No other book on barbell training ever written provides the detailed instruction on every aspect of the basic barbell exercises found in SS:BBT3."

And that's true. PPST3 is about programming the exercises. Like how big the jumps should be.
