    Default Bench Press Shoulder Imbalance

    Morning Team,
    Competitive powerlifter, my development blocks including multiple slots for pressing, I've found the press doesn't carryover well to the bench press therefore I only press during pivot blocks (once every 4 weeks). I've found after 2-3 weeks of bench pressing my anterior delts develop an annoying pain which I've found only relieves with rear delt work however from reading the SS book and from experience the press is the best for overall shoulder health. Without increasing the stress level during a dev block how would you utilise the press during the dev block to keep the shoulders healthy instead of isolation rear delt work?

    Train the press once every other week, maybe come in on Saturday and just press.
