    Default Weighted chin ups?

Hi all, Im doing the nlp and lifts are all going up but Im at the point now with chin ups where Im going to have to change something as Im struggling to add 0.5kg every time. Im currently at 38kg for 3x5.

Would lowering the weight and upping the reps to 3x8 make sense? If so, what should I drop the weight down to for sets of 8?

    Thanks

Why didn't you just vary the reps as suggested in the book?

I was already doing weighted chin ups for sets of 5 before I started your program and was making good progress.I thought that I would just carry on with them for 5’s. I think the body weight gain has has slowed that progress right down though.

Just not sure where to go from here though, would it be counterproductive to reduce weight and up reps?

There's a million ways to program chin-ups. You can alternate bodyweight chins (AMRAP) with weighted chins. You can work in a rep range of say 5-8 (so keep the weight where it is but go for more reps).

You realize if you gain bodyweight but get the same amount of reps, you are still getting stronger, right?
