All variables not a factor ie rest, recovery…my progress of the 4 day split on my volume days are hitting PR every training session,Squat 5X5, Press 3X8 and have started to plateau. My intensity days are still making progress, but have plenty more room to grow…Should I reduce the weight or reduce set/reps on volume day?

Maybe I misunderstood the book, on page 152 at the top is a sample program of the “Four day Texas method version #2 I’ve chosen to stick with the emphasis on bench.
Why are you not doing a novice program?
After running it for a year and grind on it, it became difficult to recover on the 3 day squat. Im 5’10 235 lbs 38 years old been running the program for 2.5 years Squat is 435 on the 5X5 and Press is 185 on 3x8
