Why are you shrugging at the top? That's not a deadlift
I have been having trouble on this lift, because it seems that at the top of the lift the bar scrapes against my package. It usually only happens when I shrug at the top but even when I try not to, the bar is still right around that area. My arms are not long, but they are not that short either, with a closed fist they are about even with my nuts. Is this abnormal?

Yeah I guess I should try it with heavier weight. I was practicing form. Keeping my chest up seems to make it worse. I will try with heavier weight tonight.
Does the sumo dead still build a strong back? some one suggested it being more ideal for people with shorter arms, but I am interested in gaining strength and muscle not just lifting heavy weight? thanks
