    Hi,

I was hoping to get an answer to a problem I am having when bench pressing. I believe my form to be good, however, my forearms shake during my work sets. Does anyone know if this is a problem, or if something can be done about it? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for your input.

Do you mean shake or wobble?

A bit of shaking on straining intense movements is pretty normal.

How much are you lifting on the Bench? When moving very light weights it requires some finely tuned motor control to move the bar in a rigid motion. Getting more weight on will stabilise wobbling.

Neither are things you need to worry about.

thanks for your reply. It is shaking, not wobbling. I am currently benching 155. I don't shake on my warmups, just the work sets.

How long have you been benching? Is this a new movement pattern for you?

are you gripping the bar as tight as you can? or trying to rip it apart?

Yes, some shaking is normal in the beginning. No, it is not hindering your progress. Yes, it will go away as your technique improves, you get stronger, and the muscles that stabilize you get better at doing their jobs.
