There's a line to draw. I think the original question has already been sorted, but note that when presses get heavier, some layback is inevitable so the barbell / lifter system is kept in balance. The trick when that happens is to make sure your lumbar isn't overextending, and one can recognize this the same way one recognizes lumbar flexion. If your abs stay braced your lower back will not hyperextend.
