Dave Tate has been doing some weird training over the last couple of years.

It's one, long, terrible drop set. You'd do shit like this when you reach the point where just doing your squats alone isn't creating optimal progress. The "rep method" of the conjugate training theory...along with being different, but the same.

To begin with powerlifters have used the leg press, hack squat and lunges for years. they're a pretty decent accessory movement.

Dave isnt involved in some 'weird training' after a rediculous amount of injuries including the possibility of complete shoulder replacement dave tate changed his focus to hypertrophy.

The leg press probably allows him to get the volume needed for hypertrophy without frying his cms or upsetting old injuries.

Cannibal's right, you can't--or shouldn't--summarily dismiss the leg press as a training tool. "The right tool for the right job" should be your mantra. Decrying the leg press as a shit exercise period is fucking dumb. And you don't wanna be fucking dumb, do you?

I love that you guys are so quick on the draw.

Weird is a subjective term. I think it is weird. I love Tate, Wendler, and the whole EFS crew. I own thousands of dollars in Metal and related gear.

Yes, the leg press has uses. I never said anything other than I hate them.

    Calm the fuck down.

Unlike squats, which make my legs feel pumped, or strong, or sore, I've never, ever felt anything from doing leg presses. Of course, I never stuck with them. Isn't the leg press a prototype for the Smith machine?
