Depression can affect your Training and Training can affect you Depression.
At 50 years old, I have had my ups and downs.
Training helps me to be less depressed, probably 50% of the reason I ever exercise in any form is for the psychological aspect.
I have had prescriptions for Prozac and Wellbrutin before, the side effects were NOT worth it for me.
Now this... I live in CA, and after not smoking weed for ~25 years, i got a card and for the last 6 months take 1 hit out of a pipe 3-5 times a week. I am happier, friendlier, more focused and sleep better than I have in years.
Just sayin...
