Doctor gave me a cortisone shot in my knee today, how screwed am I?

I was already able to squat/deadlift, it just hurt to run/jump which is why I went in. Do cortisone injections mess up your ability to train and gain muscle? If so, how long until it wears off? The doctor assured me it would be fine, but after everything I've read online, I do not believe him.
