    Default Form check on Deadlift

    I was told to get a video up on my deadlifts so here was my last set at 275X5X1. Slightly confused as to whether straps are a no-no, In the book Rip talks about the straps possibly being a logical choice for someone who is not planning on lifting in a meet. Would it be better to just get rid of em?

    Your deadlift mechanics are spot on. However, your breathing needs work. Breathe at the bottom. Don't let air out at the top. Lose the gum while lifting, too. Don't strap at 275. It's too light for that. Allow your grip to get stronger by working it on the deads. You probably don't need the belt yet, either, unless you have a previous back injury.

    Sweet, the belt gets annoying at times anyway. Thanks for the feedback ill ditch the straps and gum, and fix my breathing.
