I've wondered whether it's possible to cough and hiccup at the same time... this just puts the question on a whole new level.
That works only to a point for me--I don't drink during lifting, but those kidneys keep processing whatever is already in my system, and somehow there is always some pee in store. I've actually wondered whether it's something obscure like periurethral glands.Ladies...stop drinking and eating before bench and pee before PR attempts. That's what I got!
I only have this problem with pullups. And I have no cervix so the cup thing isn't going to work. I just go use the toilet before I do pullups. Sometimes again between sets. It's very annoying and seems to come and go, which makes me suspect there are hormones involved.
I cannot say anything about the cup's usefulness during workouts. I just take mini-pees religiously between sets on days when my bladder seems less trustworthy (it comes and goes, so +1 on the hormonal thing).
What I can comment on is that I have noticed that I have to push really hard to empty a full bladder with the cup inserted, to the point where I will sometimes take it out in order to urinate. I always just figured it pushes onto the urethra through all the tissue, and I used to see this as a bad thing. No more, though! I'll be sure to try it out during a workout soon. Thanks tobo!
