LP and just started Chins
So I just started doing chins and am not exactly sure how many to add and how to progress them.
I have added them on my b day and my goal is to do more than I have done on the previous day, no mater how I get there. I can currently do between 3-5 reps per set. I did a 15 reps one day and 16 the next.
Is this typically how to program these? The book says three sets, but only puts me at 12-15 reps.
Stats: 45 yrs 219 lb 6'
Thank you,
Matt

Personally, I like 4 sets for chins.
Depending on the trainee and the training goals, you could attack it a few different ways.
You could look to add 1-2 reps every session:
Monday - 3,3,3,3 Wed - DL Fri - 4,4,3,3
And slowly creep them up that way.
You could also chin 2x a week rather than once every 5-6 days.
I believe Niki has an article on here as well.
