Realistic progress in first year
I was just curious to know what realistic goals might be in the first year of training for someone like me.
I’m a 23 year old male, 6’2 & 205lbs (175 at the beginning), been training 5 months.
Squat 70kg to 145 for 3x5.
Press 40kgx5x3 to 66kgx3x2
Bench press 62.5kgx5x3 to 100x3x5
Deadlift 90kgx5 to 180x5
Ideally I’d like to get to 240lbs and wondered how long this would typically take without getting fat.
Would appreciate anyone’s thoughts and personal experiences from their first year.

There is a big genetic component to this and so answers to questions like these tend to be squishy. But if you want to add 35 lbs to your frame post novice and you averaged about a pound per week you'd be in the neighborhood of 8 months. For a guy that is 6'2 and 23 years old with plenty of room to grow that is exceedingly reasonable. If you were 35 years old, or 5'8 and 220, I'd say it'd be slower....but you can get that done with 3-4 days per week of hard training and plenty of quality calories
