I'm probably overthinking this, does the vodka matter as much? You once mentioned that nobody should drink 80° whiskey so I have applied that to all of my spirit choices. Smirnoff has a 100° vodka, it works well for a little extra punch.

Any iced drink melts the ice, reducing the proof of the spirit. What do you mean, "matter as much"?

The quality of the vodka. I am not talking swill, just in general, have you tried other vodkas and had similarly pleasant experiences?

Vodka is 80 proof ethanol, and that is all. At least it should be.

Definitely want to mix the Vesper Martini, but the first two liquor stores I tried do not have Martin Miller's gin of Cocchi Americana vermouth, so will continue the quest this weekend. Not a big spirits drinker, but this sounds irresistible.

Found Martin Miller gin and Cocchi Americans as well as St George Absinthe. I use Russian Standard vodka. Yes, tangelo is the perfect vest. Excellent martini! Appreciate the recipe and broadening my horizons. Thank you.

Nice to see someone who knows martinis are stirred, not shaken.

Bond called for his martinis to be shaken, not stirred. Rip shakes a cocktail the way old people fuck. Here's the correct way to use a shaker:

Right. The tattooed hipster way. I don't do it that way.
