Nick Delgadillo is responsible for inventing what may be the most effective cue for correcting an unlocked lower back ever devised. In a video released on this website on March 7, 2019, he describes a method for cueing the lumbar extension for the deadlift start position that works better than anything I've ever used. In fact, I use it myself now when I pull.

And kudos to Rip for “inspiring innovation”.

I will give this a try today, if I could get through all my DL work without a tight lower back at the end it'd be great.

Beautiful simple cue. I'm so glad I checked the website today.

I have been having trouble keeping form tight during squatting recently. would this be a good cue to think about during the squat?

Was the cue originally, "Shove your junk between your legs" and then edited from there?

I think I remember Nick telling me that when I met him at WFAC. I drove up from Dallas to see him because I had trouble setting my back on the DL.

I struggle with arching my back and leg drive without raisin my ass off the bench. This cue helps me with this.

But the explanation of the cue was the proprioceptive effect of the contact between belly and thighs...
