I saw this on Game Day this morning. Pretty impressive for an 18 year old kid.

WATCH: Wisconsin freshman RB Braelon Allen’s insane max-out lifts

Scroll down to see the squat. The power clean looked impressive but I don't clean.

    That's not a power clean, and he's 17.

    I wish I could have cleaned 405 and squatted 610 when I was 17.

I wish I could do that now, even.

Sorry about that. My coach forbid me from doing cleans so I don't know. The 17 vs 18 missed, I was running off what Gameday and didn't read all the details of the article. If he's 17 and playing D1 football, that's even more impressive.

Such is the power of the freak athlete. As said before though, not a power clean, just a clean. Still impressive, just an important distinction. Wonder how much he could squat if he trained low bar.

No, it's not. Happens on college football teams all the time.

Mark have you found that african-americans, on average, are stronger than other races? It sure seems like that, and it makes sense from a historical perspective.

I've actually seen a few like this, yeah. And they are almost ALWAYS labeled as power cleans.

As it turns out, virtually all of the Olympic sprint records are held by men of West African descent, whereas virtually all the marathon records are held by men of East African descent. Sprinting is strength-dependent, so it probably depends on where in Africa the American came from.
