"I had a set of biases; you might even say some chips on my shoulder, when I started lifting for the first time at age 61. Then I thought, 'I’ll take up Starting Strength training, but it better not interfere with my sports!'

Now I know that it’s the weight training itself which is allowing me to continue with my Sports."

Well now, its 3 years later and I'm still lifting 2x per week. I'm going on my annual "guy trip" where we will climb a couple of volcanoes in Honduras, camping at 11,500 ft, after hiking up 4500 ft with heavy backpacks. While I have to ramp up the cardio training in the months leading up to it, I know I wouldn't be doing this trip at age 69 (!) if I hadn't been lifting for 8 years! Thank you Rip, and Stef and the whole SS team!
