Default Things I Miss From the Gym

I'm a fairly solitary guy and have always preferred to train alone, but SS requires a gym for me. The mandatory gym shut down has be thinking about the things I do love about using a public gym. I am very lucky that I have a serious barbell gym with racks, platforms, and a couple of SSCs running around. I'm just one of many running LP or were running LP.

I miss the comradery and encouragement when that set feels heavy and you just don't feel like it. The others that will cheer you on whether it's 65lbs or 465lbs.

I miss extra push that I'm dressed, in the car, and at the gym, so I might as well get it done, hahahaha. It negates the procrastination and training at home can build.

I miss the social feedback. This one surprised me. The young bucks say, "You again, you've been here all the time, good job!"

So does anyone else miss anything about not going to their gym?

The self-discipline; the equipment that I can't even buy at this point even if I could fit it in my house; the sense of productiveness and achievement. So many things.

I previously lifted at a big corporate gym, would mostly keep to myself.

I'm lucky to have some old plates, barbells, and squat stands at home; haven't used those in many years until now.
So glad I never threw those out, or sold them.

....just feel so lucky to be lifting at all right now.
It's hard to even think about missing the gym much at all.

Just the equipment. I'd train at home if I had money to buy stuff and a place to put it. I loved my old home gym.

I miss actually just being able to workout the most, but I do miss the camaraderie at the gym as well. The other people there were always super cool about giving props on heavy lifts. I was the "squat guy" too, not that I'm even that strong but since I was doing LP (with a light day) I was always squatting first thing.

I can't wait until this is in the rear view mirror and we can all train again.

I second this, although I am careful not to stare like a thirsty ape.
