    Question Training with Cervical Ribs/TOS

I was recently diagnosed with bilateral cervical ribs, which has been causing TOS in my left arm. Pain/numbness is most apparent after squats. My chiropractor recommended using a cambered bar or safety squat bar.

I know I am faced with some necessary trade-offs by diverting from a traditional barbell squat to a squat under a cambered or safety bar. I haven't been able to find anything detailing what those differences are, and how I could mitigate any potential negative impacts to the movement.

Also, there are quite a few different safety and cambered bar styles out there- any recommendations on which ones are best for someone in my situation?

    Thanks,

Are you certain that you are doing the squats correctly, with respect to bar position?

I’ve never had anyone watch me, so no I’m not absolutely certain.

Lower the bar a little more down your back. Get some shoes.
