My NLP of several months has brought my deadlift to 325. Being 36 with a perpetually aching back, I'm finding that more than one DL workout per week is too much to recover from. I'm also finding that 5 singles produce better form and less subsequent pain than the prescribed 5 rep set. Is this approach sufficient to continue to drive gains? For a novice? And what about when I become intermediate? Thanks.

In the last year or so I took a Hepburn routine with lots of singles. It seems to have been worthwhile for me.
Have you ever tried Justa’s Singles Program?
No, I'm mostly just familiar with the SS material.
