Why power cleans improve?
So it seems reasonable and logical that explosiveness cannot be improved significantly according to Mark's explanations. But if both the standing vertical jump and the power clean are displays of explosiveness, why then can the jump not be improved by training while the clean can be improved by an increase in the deadlift?

It improves a little, maybe 20%. The difference is the weight: you can recruit more motor units as the weight increases, but you're only jumping your bodyweight.
