    I am 20(M) 5'8" and currently weigh 138lbs.

I have gained a fair amount of muscle and have clear cuts in my arms, shoulders and quads. I am pretty happy with my physique except I am carrying some fluff around my midsection and have no visible abs. Should I cut down to about 125 lbs and get defined abs before starting SS?

And should I start with the novice linear progression?
I have been training for about 8 months doing push/pull/legs split 6x a week but only focusing on hypertrophy and aesthetics.

Progress in my lifts are as follows:
    •Squat: 65lbs for 5 to 200lbs for 5 (parallel depth)

    •Bench: 45lbs for 5 to 135lbs for 5

•Deadlift: 110lbs for 1 to 220lbs for 1 (my weakest lift because of grip strength)

You should read the blue book and do the NLP.

Thank you very much. What would you recommend my macros be? My waist is at 29" now and I have some fluff around the mid section.

Get bigger before you consider cutting. Your lifts will go up. Cutting will also be a lot easier with a boatload more muscle.

You really need to read the blue book.

You need to get strong and it is very, very hard to do this while on a caloric deficit so you will have eat to gain weight. This has been discussed a zillion times here. It’s not a lie it works.

Although I never tried it I do not believe that you can 5lbs every training session while on “cut”. If you try it your lifts will go backwards, you will feel beat up and will quit.

The SSNLP works but only if you eat enough AND work hard. Otherwise YNDTP.

Wtf are you cutting down to 125 for? Eat and lift pal, there’s nothing more than that

I have read the book but it only says 3500-6000 kcal and I don't know where I fall in that range. I have gained 3 lbs in the last 2 months by eating 3000kcal a day. Do I need to eat more than that?
