There was once a time I thought AthleanX was the holy grail of fitness advice (in fairness to him he does have some excellent injury rehab stuff)

But some exercises stick out in my mind as times when I started to realise how much gimmicky bullshit was on that channel

Skater squats, rocking triceps extensions and those uni lateral standing lat pulls all spring to mind
Yep, me too then one day I found a guy on YouTube talking about getting straaawng. It is much better.

I am eating, sleeping, and resting, but not able to make 5 pound jumps anymore. I have failed hard on rep 14-15 a few times. According to "the book" that means it's time to go to a Wednesday light day.

Are you still trying to make 5lb jumps on sets of 5 rep squats and deadlifts?

I went to the 5x3 women's program and started subbing in rows for deadlifts on Wednesdays (not power cleans because of the ceiling height and downstairs neighbor combo). But was trying to make 5lb jumps on the other days.

    Here's my log:
    130x3,3,3,1 / P50x5,5,3,3 / D155x3x3
    130x3x5 / B57.5x5x3 / R70x5x3
    135x5x3 / P52.5x5x3 / D160x3x3
    140 x 1,3,2 (bad life day) / B60x5x3 / R 75x3x5
    140x5x3 / P55x5x3 / D165x3x3
    145x5x3 / B65x5x3 / D170x3x3
    150x5x3 / P57.5x5x3 / D175x3x3
    155x3,3,3,3,1 / B70x5x3 / R75x3x5

....then I got annoyed and veered off into lunges and other associated bad ideas.

When I was running NLP, I had to take smaller jumps (2.5 pounds) fairly soon, and somewhere in there I switched from 3 sets of 5 to 5 sets of 3 and continued to make progress for some time.

I’m an older female — 56 yo when I started the program in 2019.

Speaking as a 50+-year-old woman, I don't have time for that shite. We call it practical strength training for a reason. When I see that craziness, I almost want to become evangelical about the word of Rip...but I know it won't be heard or understood.
