Default Thumb knuckle popping doing hook grip?

Anyone had their thumb knuckle pop (like cracking your knuckles) while DL using a hook grip? Popping happened on the left interphalangeal (sp...) joint.

Scared the shit out of me. Thought I dislocated it at first. But there was no pain.

There was a major pulling as the knuckle popped (on both thumbs). I've watched the two hook grip videos, but maybe I was gripping wrong.

    Thanks for any feedback.

(asked my SS coach, and he'd never heard of this happening)

Happens to me like every other deadlift workout. It isn't anything harmful in my experience. Don't worry about it, it's natural for your thumb to pop when you put a crap ton of pulling force on it.

It happens to two of my clients like once a year. They don't have pain associated with it.

I get a bit of a sensation of this when I do heavy hooked deadlifts, same hand. Freaks me out a bit, I usually reset the grip after the rep to make sure the lift stays even.
