    Hi everyone,

    I am looking for any article by Mark or the SS team on the two different styles of doing the Olympic lifts - (1) Stomping both feet noisily after jumping (or dropping) with lots of air between them and the floor, vs. (2) sliding both feet to the side with minimum air between them and the floor.

    I found a video on this by Zack. But I want to know what Mark recommends.

    Thanks,

    Olympic lifting doesn't give points for making noise or taking longer to rack the bar.

    Hello Stef,

    Sorry I don't know much about Olympic lifting. Actually, I don't know much about anything that relates to "gym". So what's your opinion? Is this just a style or preference thing? Or are there pros and cons of doing each? I am currently doing the Power Snatch and the Power Clean, so it would help me if I knew what SS has to say about this ... What is HTH?

    Or worse.

    Look Afraid of Buildings Guy, stop posting and start reading. Your questions show that you haven't done the expected background work.

    How to properly perform the Power Clean and Power snatch is covered in detail in the book. Start there.

    HTH = "hope this helps"

    Oh God, what made you guys think I am trolling? This was a serious question. I am trying to do the background work - that is why I asked this question. Anyways, thanks!

    Do you own a copy of Starting Strength? Not a bad way to see what SS has to say about it.
