I finally grabbed my balls and learned how to power clean four weeks ago, and I really am enjoying the benefits. I am a block mason so my lower back gets worn to shit during the week, making the ever more popular light deadlifting day problematic for me. Changing from sets of 3,2,1 to 5 on deadlift and going to power clean instead of 3x5 ~80-90 deadlifts feels so much better on my back and my heavy day is increasing better than before. The stupid part is I’ve wanted to do this for years, but never took the time to learn the clean. It is not that hard to learn at all and I can’t recommend it enough. Looks like rip knew what he was talking about all along, I never would have guessed.
