Oh Lord. My total testosterone is a pitiful 115ng/dl, but the NHS has told me that I can't see an endocrinologist for a whole 20 weeks. Oh woe is me! I feel awful. What do I do?

Is the NHS really that bad? 20 weeks? I could see an endocrinologist next week here in Ohio.

Keep at it man. Low T is a lot worse without training than with.

Every single time you got a mandatory state insurance thing, you can get to a specialist in six months on the government dime or you can pay out of pocket and get it done in a week.

I have had both very good and very bad experiences with the NHS and private healthcare is not that expensive here either.

One thing is for sure, when you need it urgently you are glad the NHS is there.

I suffer from low T too due to medication, but never really thought about. I do what I can and just get on with it

This may be one of those situations where a private consultation may be worthwhile. If you have very low levels like this you essentially just need a consultant “say so” in order to start T supplementation and they’ll just instruct your GP to continue prescribing on the NHS.

The NHS is good and bad- for emergency and Cancer work it’s good, for anything “routine” it can be soul destroying. But in the UK it’s sacred which absolves it of much of its wrongdoings.
