Are rack pulls done with the plates resting on appropriate height blocks (block pulls?) the same exercise without potential damage to the bar? I've got blocks but only one bar

If you don't drop the bar on the pins, there is no damage to the bar. That way, you don't need blocks.
Roger that Rip
I never drop my bar but I've never done rack pulls either. My bar is over 50yrs old. York Olympic bar my dad bought new in 1968 so I don't plan on risking damage.
Pin height would be a problem on my rack because I rigged a plate holder that gets in the way so I made some blocks/mini platforms for the accessory pulls.
