Thanks for this and the other articles/videos regarding testosterone, I never would have considered this as a problem for myself. I've felt like dogshit the last few years and finally had my levels checked, came in at a whopping 237 ng/dL (35 pg/mL Free) at 36 years of age, so will be talking to a specialist about TRT soon. As expected when I asked my GP about my low energy level, moodiness, feeling like shit all the time, his response was centered around lifestyle choices and nothing to do with hormone imbalances.

Really interesting thread and information about the "reference level". My current TRT doc (not a GP and definitely strength athlete-friendly) set a goal for me of 900-1000 total test.

10 week-bloodwork total test just came in at 1500+ (LabCorp does not go any higher than 1197 I guess) but estradiol very low, around 18. I am hopeful he doesn't reduce my dose since I certainly do not feel anything dramatic from this supposed "supraphysiologic level".

Does Dr. Nichols have any publications out there on therapeutic levels at 1000 to 2000?

"Pro-tip #2: ...if they treat to an arbitrary and meaningless “range” rather than your symptoms, run."

Quit using your guy and use one of the aforementioned Doctors. It will make your life and experience much easier and more successful.
