The app is best used in conjunction with the books: Starting Strength: Basic Barbell Training, 3rd edition (Current Revision, Paperback) – The Aasgaard Company
Practical Programming for Strength Training, 3rd edition – The Aasgaard Company
Into my second week. I'm male, 37 and weigh 224lbs.
Squat started at 132lbs, now 176lbs. Deadlift: 176lbs, now 220lbs. Press: 66lbs, now 77lbs. Bench press: 88lbs, now 93lbs.
I'm using the app so just adding weight as it tells me to.
Does anyone know whether I have to fail a rep/set and give it that feedback before it lowers the weight increases per workout or does it work some other way?
Thanks

You have to set the weight increases for each lift in the app. Under “settings” from the Home Screen.
As for when to reduce the increase, the books cover that.
In the app, go to "settings" and then you'll see each exercise has its own section. Click on an exercise, then click "progression weight" and that will update in your next workout.
You should also check out the FAQ section in the app, a lot of those questions are answered there.
