Just made some Frito Pie and thought I'd share the recipe, not sure if Frito Pie is a local thing or pretty ubiquitous, but here's how I make it:

Pour about a half a cup of Fritos in a bowl, sprinkle some shredded cheddar on it, then pour a cup of chili of your choice in top, and maybe add a jalapeņo slice or two. That's it@

Anyone have any other simple recipes they'd like to share, local or not?

And onions. And you make it in the bag. And you shovel the cheese, not sprinkle it. Maybe I'll show you how on the cooking show.

Oh fuck yes, please do. I am not familiar with the in-the-bag variation!

Wolf Brand Chili (obviously no beans) is the traditional stuff.

We use beef with bean chili here, I just get the stuff from Kroger Deli (the kind you have to ladle into one of the deli soup

Straight meat chili sounds pretty good too!

"Chili" does not contain beans. That which contains beans may be very good, but it's not "chili."

This might sound crazy or like a waste, but i actually like steak chunks (not ground beef) in chili. and lots of onions and make like a broth with beef bouillion and a shit ton of chili powder and cumin. Thats really it. my wife makes chili with tomatoes and green peppers and beans and ground beef and all that shit and its good and all but not as satisfying as my simple recipes are.

Careful Ryan, Texans are very touchy about their chili. They don't like it when chili-con-carne is mentioned.

Listen, I’m from Jersey and know enough to know that “chili” with beans is an abomination.
