I caught a cold shortly after this. Mgiht be recovered tomorrow. I think my neck has recovered, at least sufficiently to give everything a whirl. Too sniffly to work out, breathing is important.

pretty much sick all week.
bench
195x4x4
did pullups 3x4 during that
superset
thumbless hammer kurlz
40x2x12
rope pushdowns
37.5x2x10
lat pulldowns
140x2x10
then I ran around for like 25 minutes by the gym. there's a stretch that's almost exactly 200m. did it in 38 seconds at a not-sprint-but-fast pace.

press
145x2
120x4x4
this really pissed off my triceps tendon. I can find ways to press that don't irritate it, but they involved moving my right arm in weird ways. Some days it's worse than others. Benching doesn't hurt.
neutral grip pullups
like 6 sets of 4 between the above
barbell rows
185x3x8
last set supine
thumbless hammer kurlz
40#x12
triceps pushdowns
30#x20
in the morning, ran like 35 minutes. walked home.

this morning, tried a 400m, did it in 74 seconds which isn't terribly fast but isn't that bad.
bench
190x5x5
did like 6 sets of 4 pullups
thumbless hammer kurlz
35x15
triceps pushdowns
40#x3x10
supersetted with
machine rows
45#x2x20
narrow grip and wide grip
will start squatting again soon, think those things are recovered.

it's been a while since I squatted, and I wanted to see how the neck and triceps tendon were, so a quick workout
squat
275x3x3
press
135x4
also did pullups x 4 at some point
thumbless hammer kurlz
40#x10
like I said, quick.
I found that essentially trying to rotate my hands under the bar as much as I could I could lift without irritating the tendon.

I've again been sick and shit. And then today I woke up with a sore throat. FML.
Two days ago:
bench
195x4
165x4,4,4,8
row machine thing (per arm)
+80x5x10
used assorted grips
yesterday:
squat
315x1
225x8
thumbless hammer kurlz
40x10
these were both quick workouts to get back in there - but then today work up with a sore throat which means a couple more days out of it. bleh.

So I came down with a bad cold right after the planned rest day (last log) and am still not ready to go back in to work.
Reflections:
So I weighed in today at 205.6#. slightly dehydrated, not having been active or eating much for the last few days. Anyway, that's about 10# more than where I started my weight training odyssey with SS like... 9 years ago. I definitely have more muscle than back then. I also feel like I have a little more fat. But it's hard to tell with that. I'm pretty much at the point where I should kind of stay steady and recomp. This is pretty light for my size - I'm 6'2". I think long term I could be pretty strong as 220# - I was at my strongest at like 240 but there was definitely more than 20# of excess fat. I can't tell how much muscle I've lost from that point - I've definitely lost some, but kept quite a bit.

205 lbs is pretty light for your height. I'd take that as an opportunity to lift consistently and let your weight slowly increase as your lifts go up. It's a lot more fun doing that than trying to keep your weight the same as your lifts progress.

Yeah, this is definitely way light - though I do note that it was kind of dehydrated and definitely with low glycogen stores and post-evacuation, so it's like at least 4# less than what I'd peg as a "real" weight.
