    Run: 40 min

    Flat run along Seattle waterfront.

    Dead: 225# x 5, 255 x 3, 285 x 6 (1 minimum)

Practiced split snatch with empty bar.

Everything went well; left a rep or two in the tank on each lift.

    Squat: 225# x 20

    Bench: 225 x 0

    Dead: 225 x 10

Tried the 70sBig May Challenge of max reps at 225# for squat, bench, and deadlift. Squats went okay and, in hindsight, I probably could (should) have grinded out one or two more. Legs a bit wobbly afterwards.
Of course, I can't yet bench 225, but I tried anyhow. Just unracking was a challenge and I clearly have a ways to go until I'm there. I did do a single at 190 during the warm-up, which was a PR. I was really hoping I could somehow squeeze out one rep, but nonetheless it's a zero.
Deads were harder than I thought they were going to be. I was expecting to do at least 15, but the back and upper quads started tightening quite a bit and I couldn't shake it enough between reps (three second break max between reps during deadlift). At ten the hands opened up and that was the end.
Happy with the squat as that is what I was expecting; bench was a push; disappointed with deadlift; overall I'm okay but know there's better in me. Really hungry right now - time to eat!
