Sure is great that your coaching those special Olympians. When I went to one of my grandsons TKD competitions they had a group of them competing, a few of them wheelchairs .They sure put there heart and soul into it.Nice to see you found plenty to do since you moved and retired .

Thanks Jerry. This experience is so rewarding, and it has given me some better insight and empathy for his population of courageous people.

In other news, a martial arts seminar will be held in the Rec Center this coming Saturday morning. I will be certain to attend unless it is held by Little Sisters of the Poor. Trying to track down more details.

The seminar turned out to be Escrima and Kali. Arts in which I have no interest and see little application for practical self defense.

Emma and Zach showed for Jujitsu tonight. As usual, Zach took some focusing to get settled down, but once I got him watching instead of goose-assing around, he did fairly well. Emma was still a little woozy from having been ill last week, but executed her techniques reasonably given a month's absence.

Weight: 225. Sigh. The body is waging a hard campaign for it's setpoint.

Today's plan was training for the Highland Games. Alas, no Irish Festival in evidence this far South seems planned and those bozos at Walker's Bluff said, "Not us!" So apparently the first meet will be in Chatham near Springfield in May. We'll see. Anywho, my right middle and ring fingers have been giving me no end of grief the last week or so, hence, I decided to adapt to circumstances and resort to more grip friendly stuff. Also, I hit the fingers with a kitchen sink of Aleve, CBD oil (yuck!), and a topical ointment. I'm not sure what did the most good, but the fingers are better, if not quite 100%.

Rounds of prowler, SciFit, medicine ball toss, elliptical, and stretching.

Average HR was 125 bpm @ 82% of MHR.

The Rec Center is having a push pull meet and I have an email in to the organizers to see if they have Masters divisions.

Ken showed for intermediate class tonight. I lead off with the three takedowns that had been giving he and Ethan such a hard time. He performed exceedingly well with only a slight bit of tuning. This was after a 4 week absence between sessions. I asked if he had been practicing and he said a little. I then took him through the other techniques which he executed flawlessly. I am promoting him next week.

Average HR was 99 bpm @ 65% of MHR.
