    Thanks.

There was another guy my age using it with 140. I asked if could work in with him and he asked how much I was going to be using. He said he had one set left to go and I said his weight on there would be fine for my first warmup set.

This guy is still stuck in the 80's wearing parachute patterned pajama pants.

Mixed up some rounds of SciFit arm bike, walking, and rower finishing off with static and dynamic stretching. Session ran 43 minutes burning 298 calories at an average HR of 106 bpm @ 68% of MHR and a peak of 117 bpm.

Loaned a copy of The Barbell Prescription to another geezer at the scotch and cigar club. He uses a bowflex at home and was doing some really nonsensical stuff that I have gradually been weaning him away from and shaped more toward SS style programming. He's unlikely to get a barbell, but I do what I can.

Jujitsu started again tonight. The BoB I bought looks funny draped in a canvas something or other. The Karate folk re-named him Dave. The two blue belts E and G are back although glassy-eyed when asked to demonstrate white belt techniques. I picked up one of the Karate people, a 20 something grad student who is not your typical academician. He's in photography and mentioned that he did a lot of construction. He has a grip of iron and beat up hands and generally pretty strong. I saw him spar in the Karate class and he does that stuff really well. He was having a very hard time overcoming those deeply programmed movements to adapt to what this style of Jujitsu teaches. But then I had the same problems for years myself.

I also picked up a small, shy Middle Eastern kid who came in with his dad. He was so small I asked his age and he was a 7th grader, so he was old enough. He had done TKD before and both he and the older guy had some falling skills. I tuned them up in back and side falls and they seem good to go.

I was more hands on than usual teaching the new folk tonight and had 60 minutes of LISS at an average Hr of 103 bpm @ 66% of MHR and a peak of 119 bpm.

Some short upper body LISS today since I had more than a double dose yesterday. Everything in moderation. Rounds of heavy bag strike flurries, medicine ball throws, and arms only arm bike.

Session was 31 minutes burning 199 calories with an average HR of 106 bpm @ 68% of MHR and a peak of 120 bpm. The latter from the 20 second striking flurries.

    Weight: 270. sigh

Push Press: 140 for 3 sets of 5. Staying with these for a while until I am sure I'm getting a good lockout at the top.

High Pulls: 180 for 3 sets of 3. PR! A few of those reps were ugly too. Staying here for a while to smooth things out.

Cable Rotations: 130 for 3 sets of 8.

External Rotations: 5 for 3 sets of 8.

Stretched. I almost didn't try the high pulls, my back was feeling out. So I got out the theracane and seppukued my illiopsoas into submission. But my left quadratus lumborum is still giving me some grief. Rolling on a tennis ball hasn't released it so far.

This session ran 61 minutes burning 521 calories with an average HR of 118 bpm @ 76% of MHR and a strange what must have been an RF transient of 216 bpm.
