Deanna has an absolutely delightful personality. It really comes through in this interview. Newsradio WJPF interview with Deanna Price | July 7, 2021 | Newsradio WJPF

The original plan was to lift, but the lumbars could afford a little more recovery. So rounds of conditioning that wouldn't tax the back. Elliptical, speed bag, plate halos, heavy bag, crunches, medicine ball tosses.

Tonight was a rehearsal for a park district demonstration this coming Saturday. It'll be fairly simple and direct stuff, showing the differences in approach, defense, and escapes from Karate and Aikido; both of which will also be demonstrating then as well. I've discussed recruiting a female student of the Karate guy so that she can show how the techniques don't require a powerlifter and/or another big guy like Ken (who will be assisting me) to make them work.

Off to the Rec Center for some conditioning. The heat index outside is 106. Not for the faint hearted, and not for me either. Rounds of speed bag, Jacob's Ladder, air bike, rower, box jumps, and cable rotations.

The martial arts demonstration came off reasonably well. It was part of a larger park district event that was lightly attended. It may result in a few new students. I got to work with at least one very promising 12 year old who comes across as a natural athlete. He picked up the movements on nearly the first demonstration of them and when he had trouble with some element of them he asked questions, listened carefully, and responded with an even better performance of them on the next try. Few adults I've seen could do that as well as he did.

Somehow I jacked up my right wrist over the weekend. It made presses painful and difficult. The thought of weighted dips was too much so I skipped them today.
