    Thank you!

Got started over today. Planning on a four week cycle working between 83% and 87% on heavy day. Then I'll regroup and start another 6 week cycle again, with a goal of hitting 400+.

    Close grip bench
    140x12
    240x10
    265x2
    295x2
    325x5 sets of 4
    Military press
    135x5
    155x4
    180x4
    190x4
    Curls
    70x10
    100x10
    Ab wheel
    15 kneeling
    4 standing

I think 83% was a good starting point. We'll see as the next few weeks go on. 325 felt pretty good--working without a spotter.

I hope you had safety bars to catch bar if you should have trouble. Remember Dick the Bruiser.

I forget if you've mentioned this in the past, do you Bench in Power Rack or just a traditional Bench station?

No spotters and no safeties would cause me to...well, have the shitty Bench that I do.

When's Baby Bear coming back on line?

My safety bars are 18+" pythons on either side of me, Herk-a-leez!

But seriously, I never try heavy stuff when I'm alone. I've even had baby bears wife come out and spot me if I even remotely thought something would be hard. It's why my wife doesn't complain about coming over when I ask. I don't unless it will be challenging.

Speaking of my wife, she's been sick with the flu (we've both already had it in November) since last Wednesday, and is still sick today. Hope like hell I don't catch it, but knowing my history, I should come down with it in about 48 hours.

I lift at a traditional bench station, BD.

As for Baby Bear, it's not for a lack of my trying. Right now his mother is dying and he lost his father last year. I spoke with his wife right before lifting today as she was leaving to check on her mother-in-law, expecting Mary to be gone any minute. She stopped eating and drinking a few days ago after having another stroke two weeks ago. So Baby Bear isn't in the right frame of mind right now to start again. I need the incentive. He was pretty surprised to lift off and spot me with 390, though. Last time he knew, I was still recovering from surgery and benching 88lbs for 20 reps!

But I left a few notes on the whiteboard this afternoon. Like...:

    Long Live the King
    390x1
    Papa Bear reigns supreme

If that doesn't get him going, not sure what will!

I think "surprised" must be putting it pretty mildly!

    I hope so!

Wasn't sure where a good place to start on medium day would be, so I went with 70%.

    Close grip bench
    140x12
    240x12
    275x4 sets of 6
    Front squat
    135x1
    185x1
    225x1

Wasn't feeling it on the squat, so cut what I had planned short. My wife has been very sick and I've been afraid to really tax my system and end up with it, too. Hopefully I'm not infected.
