Tried squatting the bar and still not good. Pain not better, nor worse. How I hate to miss squatting each workout. Never thought I would say that. Probably thinking of doing a condensed linear progression on squats moving up in 7.5 - 10kg steps. Try again next week and see how the pain is.

After rdl's was gonna run the stairs carrying 2, 20kg weights. I do this every now and again for conditioning. But, don't wanna slow progress on knee issue.

Started off warming up with a couple of 20kg plates going up and down the stairs. Mildly uncomfortable, but still need to take it easy. Squats ain't gonna happen today. I was looking through my logs, and one thing from a couple of years ago when I was running consistently was that I had pain in my right knee around the 2-3 mile mark. Must be related and will ask for a referral to a specialist at my next doc appointment. Will still try and squat in the meantime, but try and be smart about it.

Decided to try and try squats again as last night doing air squats, it felt about 75% better. Warmed up by walking up stairs carrying 2, 45 lb weights. That as a mistake as when I tried squatting with the bar, the pain started again. So just did 3x5 squats with the bar. Will move up in 10kg increments and see how it feels. Very, very frustrating to say the least. Well at least my upper body is gonna get strong with more energy to spare.

Went out camping with the family and had a blast, swimming, sun and fun was what I needed. Had a birthday and my kids gave me a book that was titled "Beer Makes Daddy Strong". Kids do the darndest thing. If only it were true.
Felt fresh and ready to roll for my workout. The top of my right kneecap is sore to the touch, but I can airsquat with no tenderness. We'll see what happens.

Decided to work out today. Major DOMS today after yesterdays workout. Especially in the lats and lower back. Stretched out extra plenty tonight. Knee felt a bit tender, but worked out out with long warm up. Also experimented with a wider stance. Have done this in the past to achieve more depth, but will play with it to see if it has any bearing on the feeling in my knee. May also start icing it immediately after as I have not done so in the past.
Sleep hasn't been to bad. Still struggling to get over 6 hours a night. Pattern seems to be up by 6am no matter what time I go to bed. I swore I would never be one of those that would be up that early for no other reason then to work. Oh, how our body and mind plays tricks on us as we get older.

Busy the last few days that prevented me from lifting. Chauffered a stagette last night and trying to prepare to emcee the wedding next weekend is taking up my time. At the stagette when I did a mock stripping routine for my wife's cousin who was blind-folded, a pretty polluted girl tried to rip my clothes off. I was honored and violated at the same time. Meanwhile, my wife is giggling up a storm and not helping anything while taking pictures of the fuckin rape!!! Finally took my mother in law to save the day and pry this girl off me. Fun times, fun times. So gonna work that one into the wedding.

Conditioning today consisted of pushing our old chev sprint up a little hill into their garage. Got my first intro joke for the wedding. Here it is: being asked to MC a wedding is like being asked to have sex with the queen. It's a real honor and all being asked, but in the end, nobody wants to do it anyways. Got it from a friend and already approved by the bride.

Good but slowing down by the 7 & 8 rep. Felt a slight pull in my lower right lat. Also felt it last workout doing rows. Been thinking about doing away with rows altogether now. Didn't get the bumper plates I wanted to yet due to money and finishing our landscaping. Priorities priorities I guess. Probably sometime in the fall when the wife goes back to work.

Took 2 weeks off for a couple weddings and a little holidaying. Nonetheless 2 weeks off = major doms and strength loss. Tried squatting 90kg yesterday and my ass hurts. At least I know I am using hip drive when my butt is sorer then my quads. Knee felt good. Press sucked ass so decided to retry it today with a little reset.
