    Strange that even if deadlifts and squats reqruite about the same muscles, when doing them both at the same day, you still can push rather far in the second exercise. Works the other way also, after heavy squatting the deadlift is a bit heavier than normal but not much. Maybe the difference becomes clearer when adding back offs.

    Tried to focus on good form, especially keeping the weight on the middle of the feet, and it went pretty well. I could have added one or two reps to the 120, but I try to take it nice and easy now in order to get the right path. Also hot weather again, otherwise I could have added one more back-off set on the squats, but it's like a sauna at the moment.

    Wednesday 3.7, Vejle, Denmark

    I made a quick trip with the family to Legoland and close to the hotel in Vejle there was an old swimming facility with a gym. They had tried hard to remake the old municipal facilities into a modern health club, but luckily one Eleiko and one Leoko barbell still were standing in a corner. Also there were two bumper plates, 20 kgs. So without shoes or belt I did some power cleans, and being quite sure of that very few people have done anything resembling full range of motion exercises with free weights in that place for a long time, it felt good. I did not put on more weight partly because lacking shoes and belt, but also because I wanted to maintain 100% good form, and maybe someone will get away from the machines, and pick the bar up.

    Power clean 5x 60 kgs, 4x 5x70 kgs

    I felt some pain in the back already on the warm ups. Felt like the spine region, hope not a disc problem... So I did not go so hard on the DL. The RDL went basically without any pain, only when standing erect and walking the bar back to the rack made the pain present. After the training there was no pain. Could be due to much sitting the last week, and basically no streching. Also I have a flu or something coming, and I was really tired before and after the training.

    during the last month I have been working out pretty much as usual, but only maybe two times per week about. I have been visting my home village, my parents, summer cabin, spending time with the family etc. So it has been vacation.

    Now the routines will start again, and also the training. 150 squat is the goal before Christmas, today it feels like a mountain, but its not even double body weight so it must be doable. A 120 kgs bench press and a 190 kgs dead lift during the winter would be the cream on top. I'm turning 38 tomorrow and the clock is ticking.

    I have tried to make this with barbell only, but this autumn I will include a vertical leg press to get more volume on the legs. It is a cheap press, body solid, and the comments on different forums on this particular machine are murder, but I have space for it and I want to try it out, as I think I need more work for the legs, more than the back can handle. I plan it as assitance work on DL days.

    Squat 2x100, 1x110, 3x120 kgs (have to say the 120 were all a bit good morning, good depth though)
    DL 3x120, 2x130, 1x140, 6x150, 8x130 kgs
    Pullup 7xBW

    The squats still cause problems. And I still cannot say exactly what went wrong in the winter, but it all seems so much heavier now. Apart from the issues I wrote before about possible reasons, I have lost some weight also, about 81,5 now, and I was closer to 83 last autumn.
