I modified my body solid squat rack at the same time today, so the training took a but longer. I moved the bottom plate pins to the inside of the rack at the same height as the upper pins. Much more convenient.
After the holiday I have had some issues with the OHP, somehow it feels damn heavy. It could be a form thing as today it went better. Have to keep the bar close to the throat.
Tomorrow a couple of loadable dumbbells will arrive. Rouge quality! I think my arms, at least the left arm, would need some isolated pressing as complement to the barbell. The shoulder feels better. I guess 5-6 months is what it takes for healing at this age.

Like a child I had to try the dumbbells out as soon as they arrived. They seem to be of good quality. Only thing is that the rotation is not without some friction. Maybe that will go away after some time. I notice the left arm is sill weaker and the press sets and reps was basically what I could do at this time. I hope however that this will help with getting the strength back in the arm and shoulder. On rows here is no difference between the arms.

The ”heavy day”. Some day I will move up to 100 on the squat, and maybe add some aldo on DL as well, but for the time being I don’t push this. If putting on more weight, the reps would go down in any case, so the total weight lifted would go down and for general strength I think this current strategy is the best option. First I would need to get an x-ray of the hip, so I wookd know the condition of it better. It feels good but one never knows. The femur could have some small crack in it, or it has become thinner or something else. Thoughts that wander through my mind before a set.

I pimped my gym some more and got 50 mm collars to the pulley, so now I can provide more exact weight used as I load only olympic plates on it. I also bought some more 5 Kgs plates to have around. I think going forward I do the actual work sets with the bar for the presses and use the dumbbells for assistance. There is indeed a notable muscle imbalance as I could have went on pressing with the right hand. I think if doing something like three sets of assistance presses with the dumbbells of 8-10 reps this should be addressed.

The BP was rather solid. I will add some for next time. Only thing that is improving these days is the DBR. The Rouge dumbbell is thereto more demanding. It is a bit thicker than the old one.

The shoulder was sore again and hurting on the first set of bench pressing. The next two went better but then hurting again during the dumbbell presses. The only positive is that I have now added 1Kg on the rows since the new barbells are one Kg heavier.
