I'm moving my log to the general section, a section far more appropriate for someone like me! The basic story is that I am rehabbing from RC surgery, trying to regain a lot of lost strength, and hoping to lose weight in the process. I've got a lot going on!

    old log-http://startingstrength.com/resources/forum/showthread.php?t=36220

With the guidance of Jordan, I've got a new plan...

    Yesterday 1/29/13
    DB bench press 20x5x3
(I had the 25# in my hands but there was no way those were going up!)
    Ring Rows 3 sets 9,9,8
    PVC presses a lot
    SSB 165#x5x3

Air dyne sprints, 30s on, 1:30 easy x7

    Today 1/30/13
    Conditioning only
    Row sprints 30s on, 1:30 easy x7

    1/31/13

DB Pres 5#x5x3 Whoo-hoo! Going big here!
    DB Rows 30#x12x3
    Push Ups (knees) 13x3
    Deadlift 188x5x1
    RDL 98x8x3

    Then, prowler pushes x7

As a teacher, I knew that the germs would stick sometime soon. Didn't feel well going into this session, but decided to just see what happened. Amazingly, I was able to get all the work done, and I felt not too bad doing it. This morning, however, I kind of feel like death warmed over.

    Sat 2/2/13

    DB bench press 20#x10x3
    Ring Rows 10, 9, 9
    SSB 190#x6x1, then 130#x 15x1
    BB curls 35#x10x3

    Conditioning, so-called "Funday Workout".
    5 Rounds
    500 m row
    30 KBS
    15 back extensions
    15 sit ups

It was one of those workouts that you regret ever starting during round 3.

Now I'm posting this during the power outage during the SuperBowl. This is a hard game for us in Northern CA right now...

You are showing some good progress Teach, and congrats on the dumbell military! Who cares if its 5#, once things strengthen you are going to be hoisting huge poundages, I'm sure.

    Thanks, Oldster!

    2/5/13

    DB Press 5#x10x3
    DB Bench 153x15x2
    Ring Rows 10, 10, 10

    SSB 165#x5x5

    Then Conditioning:
    AirDyne sprints 20sec sprint/1:40 easy x8 rounds

I can't wait until I can high bar squat again. I am very, very thankful to have the SSB, but boy, oh, boy I would love to not need it anymore! I think I'm doing a slight hitch with my right side first on my squat ascent. I've got to stop that!

    It's Conditioning Wednesday!

    2/6/13
PT and lots of shoulder work

    Row sprints: 125m sprint/1:30 rest x7 rounds

Love that workout! It's about 100x better than airdyne sprints.

Thanks, Oldster! I'll let you in on a secret though, I'm kind of a tank. I should be able to lift a lot. I am getting excited about breaking 200 on my squat and dead though. Post-surgery, that sounded like a pretty far off goal!

I can press 10# DB pain free, push ups are getting notabley easier, and my DB bench press is getting less wobbly. Taking it just a little slower has keep the pain from flaring up, and that's sure a good thing!

Sounds like you WILL be able to handle 200 in both the squat'n'dead! Cool. And probably much more as time goes on.

Beautiful. The DB bench is a great one for getting rid of the wobbles, thats for sure.
