Thank you Coger, Jennifer and Jerry for your comments.
I am surprised as to how much a reset I had to make. I don’t know how much the beta blockers affect the lifts. I also changed the work out to be shorter with no more than three minutes rest between sets. I will try to keep a shorter rest period until it seems to affect progress.
4-13-18
Bench 120x5, 140 x5, 160x5x2, 165x5
Dead lift 135x5, 205x5x3
Weighted Dips -45 x7x2, -45 x5

Squat 140x5, 190x5, 195x5, 200x5. Things felt good. I gave myself 3+ minute rest between sets.
OHP 100x5, 120x5, 135x5x3 last set was difficult. I need to move up slowly on the press.
Curls (barbell) 60x10, 70x10 last rep was difficult.
All felt good. No breathing hard or dizziness.

Back at the gym, delayed due to work and concerns about A-fib. I am back into A-fib but the Doc said I should exercise, he also OK’d barbell strength training (god bless him.)
Squats 135x5, 205x5x3. Repeated last work out but I minimized warm up sets because of the A-fib.
OHP 95x5, 115x5, 135 x5x2 and 135x2 and 135x1. I am disappointed in my OHP. I thought I would do better, but the Iron does not lie.

Hi Pete, good to see your Dr. okayed the lifting. My neighbor 85 had a heart issue about 15 years ago. He has always been an active man, hunting, diving and shooting. He resumed all these activities and still does them today. He tells me he was advised to cut back but as he says he refuses to be a " cardiac cripple".
Your program looks fine, something like what I have read in Brooks Kubiks
Grey Hair and Black Iron book for lifters over 40.

Jerry thank you for the story and the encouragement.

Currently have atrial flutter. That means the resting heat rate is about 120 to 125. I am on the prescribed meds and the doc said lifting would be ok.
I am not pushing too hard as I don’t want to mess with this unpaired organ.
Deadlift 140x5, 230x5x3. Deadlifts were easy so I tried 280x1. That was OK, but the bar was thick for a double overhand grip. My grip started to slip.
Bench 135x5, 155x5, 165x5x3. This weight felt heavy.
Barbell Curls - 70x6x2. I did these for fun
Like Jerry's friend I refuse to be a cardiac cripple. I has been an interesting year so far but oh, to be 65 again.

The ablation I had in January didn't take. The nerve link reconnect so I went back into atrial flutter. I had another ablation in late June. so far everything is good. I still get occasional A-Fib. I feel ok but I think I am starting to get "fluffy". So I went back to gym today.
Squats 135x5, 185x5x3
OHP 95x5, 115x5 125x5x3
barbell curls 60x7x2, 60x8
I did not push too hard as I don't want a case of DOMS for the weekend.

Hi Pete, good to see you back.As for looking fluffy it's not as bad as looking frail. My daughters father in law has been going through some heart related surgeries the past two years and must have dropped 50lbs.He does not look.
good.
Your numbers sure look good .I'm no expert but from what I've read a good idea is to stabilize. Repeat the WO using the same weights for 4 sessions.I hope the summer goes well for you, stay strong.
