    Thurs., 5/09. 224#. Squat Daaaayyy!

    SQ: 45x..., 135x8, 225x5, 275x2, 305x2, 335x3,3,3.

    Hi-Bar SQ: 275x5,5. blech. how you get so big, doing squats of this kind? No. just no. everything about them wrong, it feels.

    F Squat: 185x8. Better, that is.

    Every set gets followed up by a dead hang from the pullup bar, and some Diiiiiips, yo!

    Dips: 5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5,8. (48) First two sets were the worst, last two sets were the scariest.


    Prime rib burgers (that's a thing!? that's a thing!!) with cheese & pickled onions. Brussels sprouts.

    SSB: 75x10. Someone left it in the rack, so I warmed up with it. It's like doing hi-bar squats with front squat mechanics.

    FSquat: 45x10, 95x8, 135x5, 185x5, 225x3, 275x1, 225x3,5.

    OHP: 95x8, 135x5, 155x5, 145x5,5.

    Dips: 3,5,5,5,3,3. supersetted with everything above.

    Rows: 185x5,5,5,5,5,5.


    Pork & bean pupusas with ham & cheese, scrambled eggs.



    Sun., 5/12. Quick visit before dinner.

    CGBP: 45x..., 95x12, 115x8, 135x6,6,6.

    Side Delts: 10x45 - rest-pause every 15 reps.

    DB OHP: 30x5,5, 35x5, 40x5, 45x5, 50x5.

    GHR x 10.


    Ribeye, Bacon salad, garlic spread on cheese crackers.

    1# bacon, cooked crispy
    2 pints cherry tomatoes, sliced
    2 large cucumbers, diced
    1/2 C Mayo
    1T lemon juice
    1/2 t garlic powder
    salt, pepper

    Roast garlic till soft & lightly carmelized. mix with olive oil and grated parmesan, salt to taste.

    Default Cheese crackers

    On a parchment paper covered cookie sheet, arrange 1T mounds of shredded cheese. Bake at 350 for 5-12 minutes until they bubble through, but before they start to brown.

    Tues., 5/14. 223.2#. Some, uh, unexpected weight loss there. Wash your hands after you drunkenly handle ground beef, kids!

    SQ: 45x..., 135x8, 225x4, 285x8,8,8. I'm stuck in my least favorite rack, which is wider than the others. re-racking that last set, I kept bumping the bar off the J-hooks. By the time I calmed down and got back on the centerline, my hands were numb. awesome.

    Dips: 5, 10,10,10. cool.

    OHP: 45x10, 95x5, 135x5, 140x5, 145x5, 150x5, 155x5. this is fine.


    chicken curry with sweet potatoes, squash & noodles. Finished Veep. Damn, what a show.

    Well, the wings fell off. Had to put our dog down, and that's been ruff. She had a good run, though - literally and figuratively. She was raised by our cats, so she got inducted into the Secrets of the Nine Lives. This helped her make it to just two weeks shy of 13 years, which is pretty good for a rescue mutt with incurable immunodeficiency issues.

    5/18. Shoveled two feet down into wet-ass clay to make the grave. 16 cubic feet of wet clay is about 1760 pounds, so it's basically an AMRAP set of rounded-back rows, with difficulty compounded by the clay sticking to the shovel. Pan-asian buffet.


    5/22. 225.6#. sober enough for a workout.

    SQ: 45x15, 15, 135x10, 185x10,10,10,10.

    Dips: 5,5,5,5,5.

    Leg Press: just to sit in it and stretch the low back & hips.

    food & booze.


    5/23. 225#.

    OHP: 45x..., 95x8, 135x5, 155x3, 165x2,2,2,2,2.

    DB Row: 85x4, 105x5, 110x5, 85x10.

    DB Incline Press: 30x12, 12, 21.

    face pulls: 30x20,20,20.

    food & booze. I find a place that will do four cheeseburgers in one bun. They only give me two pickle slices, though.


    5/24. we get massages. my guy tells me 'oh, jeez, these legs are extremely rigid! You should really try yoga, cuz you know, as you age, your spine is only just gonna get worse.' It's still a decent massage.


    5/26. 226#. Gotta just keep showing up. After all, I've suddenly got 2 extra hours in my day.

    Sorry to hear about your dog. My 2 had to be put down in the past 2 years. I had both of them 16 years.
    I miss having a pet but I am to old to do it again.

    Thanks, man. Nothing teaches you what true love is the way a dog does. People are already asking us if we'll get another. We just say "We don't miss having a dog at all. We just miss our dog."

    2xEMOM: 245x2,2,2,2,2,2. I like these - it feels like I did squats, and it only takes 5 minutes.

    Dips: 5,5,3, +10 x 5,5,5. so I'm doing weighted dips now. Not because I like them, or because I'm any good at them. It's just time to do them.

    I get invited to join wife and friend for a night out. I'm an agreeable guy, so I get a quick whore's bath at the sink, find some stink spray in my gym bag and go. We end up at a new Mexican place where they serve machetes.
    I'd never heard of a machete, but I invite you to imagine a taco that's 22 inches long. We're going back there.
