Fri., 6/29. 219.6#. Ugly hot & humid. Just bad.

    OHP: 45x..., 95x8, 135x3, 150x8,8,8.

Seated DB Press: 50x10,7,5. Just go till I can't lock out, then do one more rep - no rest periods, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna deload.

    Side Delts: 15x20,20,20. rest pause.
    Hammer Curlz: 20x15,15,15. non-stop pumping.
BB Curlz: 45x8,12,15. do not stop pumping!
1-arm Tricep pulldowns: 40x15,15,15. pumping stops now.

Then, to a friend's house for a cookout. Yep, standing next to the grill, sippin' beers & swattin' skeeters.

Sun., 7/01. 220.4#. As bad as Friday was, Saturday was so much worse. At least there's a breeze today.

DL: 135x8, 225x5, 315x3, 365x5,5,5. That was supposed to be 375. Damn. Well, at least it felt heavy.

    Rows: 185x10,10,10.

TBar Rows: 80x12,12, and my ride's here.

Rousing Breakfast: cheese omelettes, bacon, pork links, asparagus with hollandaise, portobello mushrooms. Damn, I'm good.

Chilling with friends, watching the storm roll through. The heat breaks!

Wed., 7/04. Busy in here for a holiday.

SQ: 45x..., 135x8, 225x5, 315x2, 365x2, 355x2, these are way harder than they should be. I'm blaming the heat. And also the drinking.

    FSquat: 155x10,10,10. done.

Big-ass ribeye, cheezy hash browns, coleslaw, all laid atop a solid foundation of guacamole & tequila. Happy Birthday, America.

Fri, 7/06. 221.5#. Bad pillow gives tension headache. Ugh. Bad pillow! Bad!

    OHP: 45x..., 95x8, 135x5, 160x5,5,5. alright.

    Incline DB: 35x10, 45x10, 55x10.
Side Delts: 15x15,15,15. headache not getting better. Home for some naproxen. It gets better.

Then: paddleboarding, 1 hour. Pretty good for the first time of the season. Never got my hair wet, didn't lose my sunglasses or hat. Wife got a board without a fin, which we didn't find out about till we brought it back, so she spent the whole time zig-zagging like a slopoke, thinking she forgot how to paddle.

    Patty Melt with fries.

Sat., 7/07. 8-mile hike. Nothing fancy - groomed trail, shade trees, light mosquito action. Then, we go to a brewery restaurant that has movie theaters, and sip beers while we watch dinosaurs eat bad guys. Pure Unmitigated Joy.

Sun., 7/08. 219#, 1.5 pounds of which is absolutely coffee, I guarantee.

    DL: 135x10, 225x5, 315x3-doh, 365x1-hook, 405x2,2,2-straps. second rep tends to be faster.

Rows: 185x10,10,10. take slack out of bar - clank! hit gut with the bar - clankclank! set bar down - clank! I got the rhythm of a terminator factory.

    TBar rows: 70x12, 80x12,12.
Lat Pulldowns: 80x12-on the blue one, 70x12,12-on the white one (it's heavier).
Rear Delts - Pec Dec, yo! 15x15,15,15.

Preacher Curlz: 25x15,35x15,45x15,35x15. okay, I guess.
KB Curlz: 5x15,15,15. keep the bottom up = brachioradialis.
    DB Curlz: 25x15.

CoC(broke down and bought a new one): 5x5.

Wife has been push-pressing 95 for so long, she tries 115, and nails it for two perfect singles. Her bar speed is such that 135 is not far away.

Found an Italian deli that does a bucket of fried chicken with a side for $10. This. Is. Sunday.
Got the home studio up and running. Needs more 1/4" to RCA adapters, more dynamic mics, and a couch. And a drum machine. And a cowbell. And then more cowbell.

Mon., 7/09. CoC 3x5. gonna try for 3 per week, maybe a HML kind of thing.

Tues., 7/10. 220.8#. Not enough caffeine; it is known.

    SQ: 45x..., 135x8, 225x5, 275x3, 320 x 8,8,8. sweet cheebuz. cutting out the back-off sets today. Rekt.

GM: 95x10,10,10. L knee has learned not to complain. Weight shall be added.

    Leg Xtends: 70x15,15,15.
    Leg Curlz: 80x10,10,10.
Calf Raises: 25x25,25,25. much better as a circuit. much better than limply pacing in front of that damn calf machine.

Stumble the mile home, hear sirens out East, think nothing of it. Check the face book, and all my Sun Prairie friends are posting about Main Street exploding. Contractor hit a 4" gas main, but they were able to get people away before the boom happened 20 minutes later. Destroyed a few buildings, and the one person who died was the Fire Department Captain, who also owned the bar where the whole thing happened. Shit picked up buildings across the street, rattled windows 7 miles away, and they had to evacuate the nursing home. Damn.

Sweet potato stew, made Rips' Texas Chili style - the secret ingredient is a 3# chuck roast, and a nice dollop of peanut butter.

Thurs., 7/12. 217.2#. Huh. Sweet potato stew is magic.

Racks are all full, so I have a seat-

    Seated Chest Supported Row: 165x8,8.

OHP: 45x..., 95x8, 135x5, 160x3, 175x2, 180x2 - yeah, there's some form breakdown there. I had to flex&extend my spine (crack the whip) to get the elbows locked out. 175x2.
    115 x 12,12,12. good weight for backoffs - smooth until rep 9-10.

    Side Delts: 20x10,10,12.

skipping the Dips - there's a ping in my L anterior AC joint. Maybe from stretching forward on the rows, but probably from sandbagging my way through warmups.

French Press: 40x15, 45x12, 50x10. There's a mini football bar that would be perfect for these.

CoC: 5x1. These are holds, for as long as I can.

Cheeseburgers. Note: When we do burgers at home, we never bother with the bun, and they're normally made in a pan, so I can slurp all the jooces. Always with pickles.

Sat., 7/14. 218#. I spy with my caffiennated eye a brand new Ohio Deadlift Bar! Black finish, super nice knurling like sharkskin. Stiff stiff stiff.

DL: 135x10, 225x5, 325x8,8,8 - hook, hook, straps. Not that there's anything wrong with the vintage split-sleeve York bars here, but this thing's like a Cadillac.

    Rows: 185 x 10,10,10.

gotta go to the ReStore before it closes to find the perfect used cabinet for our kitchen, and what do you know, we find it! grab some marble tile for the top, and some drawer pulls, all for under $60. Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Check one out.

    Pizza.

    Sun., 7/15. Finishing up:

    TBar Rows: 45x10, 65x12, 80x12, 90x12, 12, 100x12.

    Lat Pulldowns: 80x12,12,12.

DB Incline Bench Rear Delts: 15x15,15,15.

    BB Curlz: 35x15, 55x15, 65x10, 75x10-Cheat, then looonng Eccentric. 65x10-C&E, 55x12-normal, 35x21-reverse grip.

    CoC: 5x5.

Brunch Party at friend's house. She makes amazing food, and we day-drink way too much. Later, we make a quick trip to, oh god, the mall. (been to a Boston Store lately? place is cray.) Didn't buy anything, but saw a national chicken wing chain restaurant and both realized we needed a Significant Bolus of Protein, the quality of which we were actually impressed with. It more than made up for the fact that we were in an establishment that lets spilled ice melt into the carpet instead of getting swept. All the touchable surfaces were sticky, too. Damn good wings, though.

    Leg Xtends: 70x15, 80x15,15.

    1 mile home, plus -
    CoC: 5x5.

Ribeye fajitas. Yes, that's right. Could be the best fajitas ever.

    Thurs., 7/19. 224#. mini bulk.

    OHP: 45x..., 95x8, 135x4, 155x5-oof, that's supposed to be eight. Oh, well: 5,5,5,5.

Seated DB Press: 50x10,10,7. No, I will NOT deload these.

    Side Delts: 15x20,20,20.

    Tri P downs: 60x20, 80x20, 100x20. lightning round.

    Coc: 10x1.

    Salmon & hashbrowns.

    Sat., 7/21. 222#.

    DL: 135x8, 225x5, 315x3, 375x5-hook, 5-straps, 5-straps.

    Rows: 185x10,10,10. beezuz, these suck.

Bicep Blaster Curlz: 15x15,15,15,15. hahahaha, these are hilarious.
    Face Pulls: 30x30,30.
CoC: 7x5, then I try the #1 gripper, and can almost close it.

Quick snack: fried eggs with proscuitto and salsa. Later, we recreate the ribeye fajitas for our friend's dinner party. Success. Also, Fifi, the B-29 is in town for pre-Oshkosh activities, so we got to watch a couple high-speed low-altitude flyovers. Fucking love that plane.

Sun., 7/22. 223.8# I take all the sets of things that I skipped this week and put together a workout with them. Possibly optimal, probably not optimal, but what IS optimal?

    HiBar SQ: 45x..., 135x10, 185x6, 225x10, 230x10,10.

Bench: 45x..., 95x12, 115x12, 135x12. Hello darkness, my old friend...

-superset, in a delightfully random order-
    Dips: 8,8,8.
    TBar Rows: 90x12,12,12.
    LatPulldowns: 80x12,12,12.
    Rear Delts: 20x15,15,15.

    Concentration Curlz: 35x5,5,5.
    Hammer Curlz: 20x10,10,15.
    CoC: 5x1 holds.

A new Japanese comfort food place - so many delightful things. Mini Bulk accomplished. Also saw the Aluminum Overcast B-17 and a DC-3. Beautiful.

    Tues., 7/24. 223#.

SQ: 45x..., 135x5, 225x5, 315x2-very 'splosive, 365x2, 375x2, 380x2. Not bad. Got to the sticking point on the 2nd rep and just stopped, like time froze. My brain, perturbed by the cessation of motion, traveled back from the rings of Saturn long enough to shout at my legs to "Move, dammit!" and the weight flew up.

    Front SQ: 185x10,10,10.

Standing Calf Raise: I'll just hit whatever this weight is that some jabroni left on here, what is this, 100? 15 reps and I'm dead, and out of time. Take the plates off, cause I'm a nice guy, and wait... this was 125. Nice.

    CoC: 3x5, plus holds x 4.

    Cheeseburgers over hash browns. Mmmmm.

    Nice. Sounds fun. Stay safe.

They're overhauling the entire gas network on several blocks and underneath me. Hope nobody's smoking as they walk down my street.

I made Rip's chili a few weeks ago, was pretty amazing. Peanut butter sounds like an interesting touch. I throw chocolate and mace in my normal chili.
