    6/04, 224.4#. Young Buck from our gym is going to Strongman Nationals this weekend. 181# and super solid. I saw the video of him doing the stone series at the qualifier. He's gonna crush it.

    Dips: 5,5, +15 x 5,5,5. I keep surprising myself with these.

    OHP: 45x..., 95x8, 135x5, 155x5, 175 x 2,2,2. first rest period was too short, second was too long.

    1 mi walk home, with no dog to meet me halfway this time.


    bean thread noodles in butter/boullion/broth/sauce with greens, pork chops, eggs.

    We realize our mattress is way too old, so we trade it with the Serta in the guest bedroom. Holy crap, what a difference! Both our lower backs feel an order of magnitude better.

    And, yes, my bad R shoulder feels beat up and achy. But at the same time, it feels good. How does that work?

    Thurs., 6/06. 225.8#. Something wrong with my R big toe metatarsal-phalangeal joint, with redness and soft tissue swelling inferior and lateral. Verrry painful. Wife says I have the Grout. I kinda hope she's right, because the only alternative I can think of is a fracture.

    Guess it's Bench Day.

    EZBar Preacher Curlz: 20x8, 30x8,8,8. really slow eccentric, concentrating most on the bottom of the ROM. Gotta stress that insertion - that's where all the bicep tendon tears I've seen have been happening.


    Wife picks me up, drives me to the BBQ joint - " Surprise! I made supper." Brisket, pulled pork, slaw, Guinness, ice cream sandwich for dessert. All of which probably made my Grout worse, but I didn't care - at the time. I'll give you the beer & ice cream, but don't you dare touch my meat.

    Sat., 6/08. 223.8# Cherries naturally contain sorbitol. I discovered this fact AFTER I chugged a gallon of cherry juice. Well, I wasn't going to squat today, anyway.

    Tues., 6/11. 222.6#. R foot is feeling back to 'normal'. The quotes are unironic in the realization that there's been a low level of arthritis in that joint for a long time. I always thought it was just the horrible shoes I wear. I guess it's a thing, though.

    Wed., 6/19. 223.2#. Had a baked potato with my steak last night, breakfast pizza and meat sticks for lunch. #eatingindenialofmortality

    FSquat: 45x..., 135x8, 185x5, 225x2, 275x1, 300x1, 315x2. Once again, I had no business doing that second rep. Was so ugly, but felt so right. It's a great feeling to PR a lift no one cares about. Strict 4-minute rests for warmups, 10 min rest before top set.

    DL: 225x5, 315x5,5,5 - hook grip, no belt, instinctual rest times.

    back circuit:
    T-Bar Rows: 90x5, 135x8,8,8 - lots of body english on these, really felt it in the brachialis and brachioradialis.
    Lat Pdowns: 80x5, 100x12,12,12. pumpy.
    Reverse Hypers: 45x15,15,15. cardio.


    spaghetti with meat & mushroom sauce. Watched Murder Mystery like everyone else in the world. So stupid, I loved it.

    Tues., 6/25. 3.5 mile hike in the woods. Saw an owl, and a raccoon that wasn't in a trash can or gutter drain.

    Wed., 6/26. 224#. not bad for forgetting what I was doing for a week.

    SQ: 45x..., 135x8, 225x5, 275x3, 285x3, 295x3. blech. they weren't bad, just too much work. It's hot, my legs were tired, I drank too much water, ate too much macaroni for lunch.

    Dips: 5, +10x5, +20x3, +35x5,5,5. well, that's something. L wrist aches.

    Face Pulls: 50x40.


    Roast beef in gravy with asparagus. Started watching Imposters because wife loves it. Kinda fun. The lead girl is unbearably hot, and the other girl reminds me of my middle school girlfriend, so I'm still not sure what to think. Uma Thurman, tho, so I'll keep watching.
