    Today

2 mi ride down to my kid's preschool and 2 mi back up--not adapted to this work yet.

    Then--
    PC to press
    55 x 5
    75 x 3 x 3

    PC to front squat
    75 x 3 x 3

--Sacrum felt great, I think I'm just going to work up from here.

    Today

    PC to Press
    55 x 5
    75 x 3 x 3

    PC to FS
    75 x 3
    95 x 3 x 3

    DL
    155 x 3
    175 x 3 x 3

--Sacrum felt good until the DLs. I think what's happening is that I'm trying the "catch" the bar before the metal plates hit the concrete. So far the concrete has held up, but the noise is painful. So if I can swing it, this weekend, I'll go cross town to the Tractor Supply and get a 4 x 6ft (~1.25 x 1.9m) horse stall mat.

Today has been catch as catch can--

    Chinups--3 singles
--while watching my daughter at the playground.
    --felt easy
--haven't done these in many months--maybe since June/July?

    PC to Press
    55 x 5
    75 x 3 x 3
--feel form is getting better, and certainly the weight is going up better.

So Halloween was crazy and I didn't lift on Friday. Saturday, I did go cross town and picked up a horse stall mat for ~$40. And so begins the slow creep to taking over the garage. (As it is, I am just parking over the mat).

    Saturday
    PC to press
    55 x 5
    75 x 3
    80 x 3 x 3 (rep PR)

    PC to Squat
    80 x 5

    Today
    PC to press
    60 x 5
    80 x 3 x 3

    PC to squat
    80 x 3
    100 x 3 x 3
    --belted

Loved being able to psychologically let go of the bar. And better for my back of course

Halloween was not crazy for us. We had really bad weather and that resulted in a low turn out of kids. My child abandoned us and went over to a friends house for the night. Teens don't hang out with parents for Halloween, I guess. LOL

So glad you were able to get the horse mat!

Yea, our kids are still in the Halloween-is-cute age, so we get dragged into it. We don't have many trick-or-treaters that make it to our house since we live on the edge of the neighborhood, but for the 2 dozen or so, we always give out full size candy bars. The bigger kids always get a kick out of it.

So I started with DLs today to make sure they happened.

    Warmed up with
    PC to FS
    80 x 5

    DL
    155 x 3
    175 x 3 x 3
--felt that same old sacrum twinge, so I took out my fancy (to me) first smartphone and videotaped the last 2 sets. When I figure out how, I'll send it to Kyle for review.

    PC to Press
    60 x 5
    80 x 2 x 5
--enjoying the work at 80. Gives me some hope of setting a new Press PR at the end of next week.

    PC to FS
    80 x 5
    100 x 3 x 3

    Lots of power cleans today

I think next week I'll be testing the press, power clean and front squat.

--the PC @ 110 freaked me out a bit psychologically, but really wasn't that bad. As described elsewhere, the problem with using the PC to rack the FS is that the PC limits the FS. This is certainly true for me. My tested max FS is 165. But I cannot PC that at all. But I'm creeping up to a 115 PC which is my 15lb bar with 50lb plates on each side and looks very intimidating to me. But I assume if I stick with it, eventually 115 will seem like old hat and then 135 will be the new intimidating goal. And I have to say that the idea of an olympic bar with 45s on each side for a PC seems really scary and GREAT!
